The Façade Of Honor & Respect

We have all seen the movies in which the Japanese portray themselves as honorable and respectable.  This façade has been as blatantly phony as the myth of Little Green Men attacking the earth from the movie and radio scare of, War of the Worlds.  In the old radio show, Orson Wells was able to convince many people that aliens had invaded the World.  This created such a scare that many people believed it to be true.

This example of a frenzy, perpetrated by the use of radio propaganda, created a national frenzy.  We can learn a lot from Mr. Wells.  If someone says misleading statements, fabrications, or flat out lies long enough, people will begin to believe it is true.  The problem with this is, as we all have learned, War of the Worlds was a hoax.  By the use of imagination and repeatedly using the media to spew completely untrue diatribes, the world was duped into believing it was being invaded.  The façade of the Japanese caring about the ‘Welfare of Women and Children’ runs the same unfounded frenzy of untruths just as War of the Worlds did over 70 years ago.

We all feel for those people who have died or are have subjected to the harmful affects of the natural disasters which have hit Japan.  Yet, it must be mentioned that Japan continues to mislead the world in just how devastating the affects of this disaster really has on the country and the safety of its people.  This leads to my most important point

Since Japan received its independence in 1952, after WWII, not one child abducted to Japan has ever been returned by the Japanese Government.  The numbers are staggering.  Tens of thousands have been abducted to Japan over the years.  In the United States, the State Department is only recently starting towards getting closer to the true accurate numbers.  The new number of 371 abducted children is 5 times higher than what was stated less than 2 years ago.  These numbers are still grossly understated.  These numbers do not take in to account the thousands of American children abducted off United States Military bases.  These numbers do not take in to account Americans working and living in Japan who have been stripped of their parental rights by a biased and highly racist Japanese court system; who have been denied any access to their own children.

Another façade by the Japanese is that when confronted with these staggering numbers, the same mantra is said over and over again: ‘We are protecting our women and children from abuse of the Americans’  Well, let’s examine some real facts as to how much the Japanese government is protecting and really cares for the children.

It is well known throughout the world that the abuse by Japanese men against Japanese women is one of the highest in the world.  Yet the Japanese police will not get involved with domestic abuse cases.  The government turns a blind eye to the abuse happening under its own nose.  Up till the recent past, Japan was the number one producer, manufacturer, and distributer of child pornography in the world.  Japan is one of only two G-7 Nations (Russia being the other) in which owning child pornography is still legal.  The age of sexual consent in Japan is 13. Child abuse by Japanese teachers has increased 40% *.  Per a CNN report on February 15, 2010, child abuse cases in Japan have increased over 400% **.  Keep in mind these are REPORTED cases.  Just how many more UNREPORTED cases are happening in Japan?

How many children or women in Japan are afraid to tell the police, a teacher, or a loved one of the abuse by a father or grandparent in Japan in fear of more abuse, and especially knowing their own government won’t help them?  What kind of honor does Japan really have when they treat their own in this manner?

It is hypocritical, and without factual merit, for Japan and many of its lawyers to make false allegations against people of victims from this country after the fact. when its own citizens have been proven to have violated US laws on US soil.  Japan turns it noses up at our laws and continues to harbor these abductors.  If Japan was a country of ‘Honor and Respect’, it would do the right thing and extradite these abductors to face the consequences of their actions in a fair trial.  Based on two treaties Japan has already signed; US Title Law 18, Part II, Chapter 209, Section 3181, Paragraph 6 as well as the United National Civil Rights of the Child. Japan is legally bound to do so, yet does not ‘Honor or Respect’ the treaties in which it signs. What makes anyone with a sliver of intelligence believe Japan would honor or respect The Hague if they were to sign it?

Respect and Honor are earned.  It is not given just because someone or country makes statements and claims over and over again.  Japan’s rhetoric reminds me of the adage, “Your actions speak so loudly, I can’t hear what you are saying”.  This is not a radio or a television show.  These are factual realizations that are indisputable.  Such as the WWII Comfort Women Scandal, Bataan Death March, Unit 731, Slave Labor, sex trafficking, and the number 2 leading offender of International Child Abductions in the world.  These are neither ‘Honorable nor Respectable’ by any decent country in this world.

Now we have the disasters or earthquakes, tsunamis, nuclear factories exposing radiation, plutonium oozing into the soil outside the rectors, no food in the stores, tap water, milk, fish, and seawater are radioactively contaminated, fuel and bottled water is being rationed, and rolling blackouts are in affect throughout Tokyo.  Every day the news coming out Japan is worse than the day before.  Are these the conditions that are, ‘In the best interest of the child’?  It certainly isn’t for my illegally abducted son.  If Japan is truly a country of ‘Honor and Respect’, Japan would do what’s in the ‘Best interest of the Child’, by sending our illegally abducted children back to the United States; where they are in much safer and healthier living conditions.  It is time for Japan to prove and live up to being ‘Honorable and Respectable’; instead of the façade it has duped the world into believing.  It is time to “Bring our Abducted Children Home”.
