This week parents, members and leadership of Bring Abducted Children Home are delivering a letter addressed to the Prime Minister of Japan to Japanese consulates throughout the U.S.
We call on the Government of Japan to immediately aid and complete the safe return to the United States all American children abducted to Japan, and provide all American children abducted within Japan immediate and unfettered access to their U.S. parent.

Though we have asked repeatedly for President Obama, Vice-President Biden and Secretary Clinton to take public action for kidnapped American children, the administration’s choice has been to address these criminal and human rights violations in private meetings with Japanese counterparts. At the same time the Japanese government and its citizen groups have been allowed high-level access to America’s leaders and public statements of support from the United States for its citizens kidnapped to North Korea from 1977 to 1983.
North Korea, after years of public pressure in addition to meetings, released some of the Japanese victims. Not one child has been returned by the Government of Japan to the United States.
Clear and decisive public action is needed to reunite victimized children and their families.
