
The Japanese government and its citizen groups have been allowed high-level access to America’s leaders and public statements of support from the United States for its citizens kidnapped to North Korea from 1977 to 1983.
North Korea, after years of public pressure in addition to meetings, released some of the Japanese victims. Not one child has been returned by the Government of Japan to the United States.
Clear and decisive public action is needed to reunite victimized children and their families.
